What happens if you can't get your chocolate fix on time? Do you go into meltdown, or just wait until your next available opportunity?
The new Chococlock allows you to grab a piece of chocolate on the hour, every hour but you only have 30 seconds in which to grab the candy before it goes back in and you have to wait another whole hour before another piece appears.
Choc-a-holic's dream
The point of this gizmo? The sheer fun of playing with chocolate, of course! The manufacturers say that it's «An ideal gift for the chocoholic with everything, the Chococlock is bound to become a must-have accessory for executive diet-dodgers everywhere.»
Although they give the idea that it could be a good incentive tool at work, the Chococlock is a good piece of fun, however the 'cheat' button which dispenses chocolate whenever you want sort of takes away the whole surprise element of the gadget.
On a more serious note, however, chocolate has been found to be an excellent mood booster and even a powerful anti-depressant. In a study conducted by the Australian Black Dog Institute, more than 61% of people who eat chocolate during a bad mood reporting that their mood was lifted.
Women need more chocolate
According to their study, the people who crave chocolate the most are those who fear social rejection and those people who are easily irritable. Also, women were more likely to crave chocolate than men, and the authors said that, "The result suggests that people with certain personality styles crave chocolate, not only when they are depressed, but also when they are anxious and irritable and that eating chocolate improves their mood."
It has been fund that substances such as endorphins and opoids are released when we eat chocolate, and it boosts our serotonin levels making us feel relaxed, thereby reducing stress.
