LA BASTOCHE in Paris, France

We love La Bastoche! Our first time in Paris we randomly chose this restaurant, and what a fabulous accident! We return to this restaurant for at least one meal regardless of where we are staying. The food is glorious perfect for a leisurely, enjoyable, authentic French meal. The waiters are kind and welcoming. A beautiful, cozy place we will continue to frequent every time we are in Paris!

Some people only comment because they enjoy complaining. French service may may be slower than some are used to. Stick to the fast touristy places if you're an impatient traveler. Our server was extremely nice and the meal was reasonably priced. Why people are complaining about the food is beyond me. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our cocotte eggs, salmon, bernaise steak, and dessert.

We ate at this restuarant last night and I agree, it wa our worst meal in Paris. We were shown the lunch menu at dinner and charged dinner prices. The food was left over from lunch definately tasted reheated. This restaurant is disgusting.

We loved La Bastoche we ate there twice during our week long stay in Paris. There are two lovely French ladies who front the place it's tiny and seats perhaps twenty diners and there's a huge painting of the Storming of the Bastille on the main wall. Food comes up from the kitchen in a little dumb waiter. Cosy, honest food and friendly service! We will return! Thank you for a great experience!

The service was terrible and the food was worse... don't ever go here its an absolute waste of money. In fact, you might as well just eat your money because it would taste better.
