This urban-chic restaurant, opened in Montpellier in 1988 by the the twin brothers Jacques et Laurent Pourcel, perfectly blends the contemporary and traditional, through its food, decor, ambience and philosophy. At Le jardin the twins who have developed a world-class reputation and become known as one of the best creative forces in the south of France, cook « a deux » in their ultra-modern kitchen. Inspired by their home-city of Montpellier and also taking knowledge and expertise from their travels throughout the world, the Pourcel brothers' take on gastronomy combines elegance, tradition, modernity and savoir-faire. The restaurant is a sleek glass cube set in a Meditteranean scented garden. Inside, the high ceilings and large spacing between the tables give diners a feeling of relaxation and space, this combined with modern art and innovative decor it gives the restaurant a great modern edge. As the brothers say themselves, it's all a matter of imagination: "We created this restaurant in the same way we create our dishes, firstly in our imagination.
