Restaurants in Spain
If you are dining out in Spain then a lot will depend on which region you are in. A
Madrid restaurant
although nowhere near the sea can have a large choice of fish and shellfish. Be ready for
the generous amounts of garlic and olive oil. If you can?t find a restaurant open early
enough, and you are hungry, there are plenty of alternatives, in Spain there are many bars
and cafes serving quality food througout the day. Tapas or snacks can be had with a drink in most
Barcelona bars
and cafes, with a large variety of tastes and flavors served hot or cold.
Valencia restaurants
will serve lunch as the main meal of the day anytime up to 4.00pm in some cases, then
you will definitely need the siesta afterwards ! Then be prepared for the dining to start
again around 9.00pm until very late. Similar to the italians they only have a light breakfast
of coffee and croissant, but make up for any deficiency later in the day. As you might expect
freshly squeezed orange juice is plentiful and always on the menu.
